The Access Advantage

Credentialed to Work Inside the Fence Line

Plant-site roofing is credential-gated. Refineries and chemical facilities require a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and plant safety clearances before a crew can even reach the roof — a barrier that keeps most general roofing contractors outside the gate. Brazos Urethane fields TWIC-credentialed crews and carries ISNetworld pre-qualification, so we mobilize inside operating industrial facilities without the access delays that stall unqualified bidders.

Our crews are trained for the realities of an active plant environment: confined-space and fall-protection protocols, hot-work and permit discipline, phased sequencing around continuous operations, and the documentation package that facility, reliability, and procurement managers require. Industrial roofs are not office roofs — thermal cycling, chemical vapor exposure, corrosive fallout, and non-standard roof geometry are the everyday conditions our systems are specified for.

Systems for Industrial Roofs

Chemical-Resistant Roof Systems for Plants and Refineries

Industrial and petrochemical roofs live under conditions that fail conventional systems early: continuous thermal cycling, chemical vapor and fallout, ponding around process equipment, and irregular penetrations. Brazos specifies and installs the systems built for that environment.

Spray polyurethane foam (SPF) is often the right answer for industrial roofs — its seamless, closed-cell, monolithic construction eliminates the seams and fasteners where thermal-cycling and vapor-driven leaks start, and it self-flashes the complex penetrations common on process rooftops. Finished with a chemical-resistant elastomeric or silicone coating, an SPF roof resists corrosive exposure and delivers a 20–30+ year service life with recoat cycles rather than tear-off. Where a membrane is the better fit, we install single-ply systems (TPO, PVC, EPDM) with chemical-compatible specifications, and commercial waterproofing for secondary-containment, below-grade, and building-envelope scopes.

Every installation is documented for warranty, insurance, and procurement — the spec sheets, manufacturer-warranted assemblies, and prequalification records industrial buyers require. Brazos is an approved applicator for leading industrial roofing manufacturers including BASF, Garland, Sika, GACO, and Carlisle.

Industrial and petrochemical facilities are one specialized segment of our practice. Brazos also roofs healthcare, education, government, retail, warehouse/logistics, and office properties across Texas and Louisiana — the full commercial spectrum.

Full-Service Industrial Roofing

Industrial Roofing Services — Texas & Louisiana

SPF Roofing

Seamless spray polyurethane foam — the workhorse system for petrochemical plants, refineries, and irregular industrial roof geometries. Closed-cell construction eliminates the seam and fastener failures that drive most leaks under thermal cycling and chemical vapor exposure.

Roof Coatings & Restoration

Chemical-resistant elastomeric and silicone coatings extend service life 10–20 years — strong lifecycle economics for facilities where uptime matters.

Single-Ply Roofing

TPO, PVC, and EPDM systems with chemical-compatible specifications for industrial and commercial structures.

Commercial Waterproofing

Below-grade and above-grade waterproofing for secondary containment, foundations, decks, and full building envelopes on industrial and institutional facilities.

Metal Roofing

Standing seam, R-panel, and metal wall systems for industrial and commercial structures.

Repair & Maintenance

Infrared moisture scanning, documented leak detection, and preventative-maintenance programs that keep industrial roof assets in service.

Where We Work

Built for the Gulf Coast Industrial Corridor

Texas and Louisiana hold the densest concentration of petrochemical and refining capacity in the United States. The Houston Ship Channel and the Mississippi River industrial corridor between Baton Rouge and New Orleans together anchor roughly a quarter of national petrochemical production across 150-plus plants — refineries, chemical plants, LNG and gas-processing facilities, and the terminals and logistics sites that serve them.

Brazos Urethane serves this corridor across both states — Houston, Beaumont, Port Arthur, Texas City, and the wider Texas Gulf Coast, and the Baton Rouge, Geismar, Plaquemine, and greater Louisiana industrial belt. We bring the same credentialed crews and documented systems to a plant in Ascension Parish or an industrial roof on the Ship Channel. Our footprint spans eight Texas and Louisiana offices with national project capability.

Award-Grade Track Record

Proven on Mission-Critical Industrial Roofs

Our 2024 SIKA Project of the Year covered the Samsung Austin Semiconductor plant — a mission-critical industrial roof installed under fab-tolerance specifications directly analogous to a petrochemical environment. Our 2025 SPFA National Industry Excellence Award recognized an SPF re-roof larger than 40,000 square feet. Add 38 years of Gulf Coast commercial and industrial work, and the result is a contractor procurement teams can document and defend.

Frequently Asked

Industrial & Petrochemical Roofing — Buyer Questions

Do you have TWIC-credentialed crews for plant-access roofing?

Yes. Brazos Urethane fields TWIC-credentialed roofing crews and carries ISNetworld pre-qualification, so we can access and work inside operating refineries and chemical plants that require Transportation Worker Identification Credentials and plant safety clearances. Plant-site roofing is credential-gated — most general roofers can’t get past the gate, and we can.

What roofing systems do you use for chemical plants and refineries?

For industrial and petrochemical roofs we most often specify seamless SPF (spray polyurethane foam) finished with a chemical-resistant elastomeric or silicone coating — it self-flashes complex penetrations and resists thermal cycling and chemical vapor. We also install chemical-compatible single-ply membranes (TPO, PVC, EPDM), metal systems, and commercial waterproofing for secondary containment and building envelopes.

What areas do you serve for industrial roofing?

Brazos serves the Gulf Coast industrial corridor across Texas and Louisiana — the Houston Ship Channel, Beaumont/Port Arthur, Texas City, and the wider Texas Gulf Coast, plus Baton Rouge, Geismar, Plaquemine, and the greater Louisiana industrial belt. Our footprint spans eight Texas and Louisiana offices with national project capability.

Are you pre-qualified for industrial procurement?

Brazos Urethane is ISNetworld pre-qualified and holds SPFA, NRCA, ABAA, and RCMA membership plus SPFA PCP spray-foam roofing certification. Every installation ships with the spec sheets, manufacturer-warranted assemblies, and prequalification documentation that facility, reliability, and procurement teams require for industrial roofing contracts.

How long does a coated industrial or refinery roof last?

A properly installed SPF roof with a chemical-resistant elastomeric or silicone topcoat typically lasts 20–30+ years in a Gulf Coast petrochemical environment, with recoat cycles every 10–15 years. Recoating a sound SPF roof costs a fraction of full replacement — strong lifecycle economics on facilities where uptime and continuous operation matter.
