Rockwool Insulation

Rockwool Insulation is a Fire-Rated insulation product that carries a flame spread and smoke developed index of Zero. Perfect for zero clearance applications and sound attenuation.

About Rockwool Insulation

Rookwool Insulation is a dense fire-rated batt insulation product that provides significantly better thermal performance than fiberglass batts thanks to higher R-Values per inch. This allows us to achieve higher R-Values in 2×4 and 2×6 cavities.

Because of it’s dense composition, Rockwool is an ideal product for sound attenuation. Second to decoupling techniques, providing density to the total wall assembly is one of the best ways to increase sound performance. For wall assemblies requiring higher STC (Sound Transmission Class) Ratings, additional UL assemblies are available using Rockwool.

In addition to it’s sound attenuation properties, Rockwool can be used in clearance-required locations, such as against B-Vent pipes, because it has received approval for residential and commercial applications according to the following tests:

Compliance & Performance

  • ASTM C665: Type 1, Complies
  • ASTM E136: Non-Combustible
  • ASTM E84: Flame Spread = 0 | Smoke Developed Index =< 5
